ACADEMIC CALENDAR 2007-2008 __________________ The dates given for the official dates for degrees awarded apply to all schools and regional campuses of the University. Dates in bold apply to all undergraduate and graduate programs on all campuses, those not bolded only to the Pittsburgh campus. Specific dates affecting the first professional programs in the Schools of Dental Medicine, Law, and Medicine, as well as the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business, may be obtained from the appropriate dean’s office. 2007 FALL TERM

Thursday, Aug. 23: New faculty orientation Friday, Aug. 24: New TA orientation Monday, Aug. 27: FALL TERM REGISTRATION PERIOD ENDS for all students Monday, Aug. 27: FALL TERM CLASSES BEGIN Monday, Sept. 3: Labor Day (University closed) Friday, Sept. 7: FALL TERM add/drop period ends Monday, Sept. 17: Constitution Day Wednesday, Oct. 17: Plenary Session, University Senate Thursday, Oct. 25: SPRING TERM REGISTRATION AND ADD/DROP CAN BEGIN; first two days reserved for seniors Oct. 19-20: Homecoming Activities Oct. 19-21: Family Weekend Friday, Oct. 26: FALL TERM DEADLINE for students to submit monitored withdrawal forms to dean’s office Nov. 21-25: Thanksgiving Recess for students (no classes), all schools Nov. 22-23: Thanksgiving Recess for faculty and staff (University closed) Monday, Nov. 26: Classes resume (all schools) Friday, Dec. 7: Last day for fall term undergraduate day classes

Friday, April 18: Last day for spring term undergraduate classes

Saturday, April 19: Reading period

April 19-26: College of General Studies classes, Saturday College classes, graduate classes, and evening classes will continue to meet during this period; final examinations should be held during the last scheduled class meeting

April 21-26: Final Examination Period for all undergraduate day classes
