The Pitt Facilities department took on a small project to refurbish the floors of the ballroom in the William Pitt Union before students return at the end of August.
University spokesperson John Fedele said workers had removed the old, worn carpet and planned to replace it with carpet that “reflects the historic character of the ballroom.”
