Shots fired in North Oakland late Tuesday night

Pittsburgh police have said shots were fired in North Oakland late on Tuesday.

At approximately 11:51 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22,  officers responded to a call after shots were fired at the 300 block of North Craig Street, according to a public safety release.

When zone four officers arrived at the scene, police found blood and shell casings in the area but no victim and no actor, the release said. People near the scene at the time police arrived said they remembered hearing gunshots and seeing a black man bleeding from his hand.

People in the area also said they saw two black males between 30- to 40-years-old fleeing the scene. The release described one male as being six feet tall, wearing a blue button down shirt and having short hair. The release described a second male as being approximately six feet three inches tall, wearing a red crew shirt with his hair in long braids.

On Sept. 23, the time of the release, no gunshot victims had arrived at any local hospitals, according to the release.

The investigation is ongoing. Police have asked anyone with information to contact them.
