The Pitt News is home to an incredible and dynamic staff of nearly 200 editors, photographers, illustrators and writers that work nearly every day of the week for the publication. As an entirely student-run organization, Pitt students make up the entirety of the leadership ladder.
At the helm are the editor-in-chief and the managing editor, who are responsible for daily operations and strategies for TPN’s future. If you hear us saying something along the lines of “The Pitt News is my life,” it’s probably because that’s the truth! Along with our team of editors, we work each day and night to ensure the most important and entertaining stories are reaching our readership.

Abby Lipold, Editor-in-Chief
Hi! I’m Abby Lipold, and I am the editor-in-chief for TPN this year. I’m a senior studying English writing and economics with a certificate in global studies. I have been a writer for TPN since the spring semester of my freshman year, and since then I have been an assistant news editor and the news editor before transitioning to my role as EIC.
During my time with The Pitt News, I have had countless opportunities to report on local and national events that have had a substantial impact on the Pitt community. I’ve spent so many late nights in the office, I joke about living there. But despite the stress and pressure, I am happy to say The Pitt News has been an integral part of my college experience, and when I look back on the past three years, I would do it all again.
I don’t have much free time outside work, school and making time for my friends and family. It’s hard to remember a time when my life wasn’t running back and forth from class to the TPN office. If I did have a day to myself, though, I’d be reading, crocheting, doing yoga or watching a comfort sitcom.
Oh, also, the Browns are totally gonna win the Super Bowl this year. I don’t care what Grace or the sports desk say.
Grace Longworth, Managing Editor
Hi Pitt News readers! I’m Grace Longworth, and I am this year’s managing editor. I’m a junior studying political science and economics with a certificate in public and professional writing. I started at TPN my first semester at Pitt on the copy desk. While I will miss being an official member of the professional grammar police, I can’t wait to see where this new role takes me this year!
When I’m not locked in the TPN office for a late night of editing, you can probably find me cheering on my hometown Cincinnati Bengals (rest in peace, Joe Burrow) and reminding Abby that pigs will fly before the Browns make the playoffs.
