Column | Pitt volleyball showcases depth in scrimmage, will have competition at outside hitter

On the current roster, there are several athletes who have patiently waited and will get their chance to prove themselves worthy of a starting spot this season. While the Panthers still boast several familiar faces on the court, competition within the team for the starting outside hitter positions will be fierce this offseason between both veteran and transfer players.

The team announced Jan. 6 that sophomore outside hitter Julianna Dalton officially completed her transfer to Pitt from Washington State, marking the first acquisition of the 2022 offseason.

Pitt volleyball has now gone further in the NCAA Tournament than any past Panther team, after a four-set victory vs. Purdue at the Fitzgerald Field House on Saturday. The Panthers have now earned their first trip to the Final Four in program history.

Pitt volleyball earns No. 3 national seed in NCAA Tournament, will host first two rounds
