Monday, March 10

In the Cathedral of Learning at 11:55 a.m., a guard reported finding a needle and a spoon in a men’s room. The items were taken to the police station for disposal.

At 4:08 p.m., police responded to a trash can fire in Posvar Hall. Once the officers arrived, they observed that someone had removed the bag from the can and had extinguished the fire.

A student reported at 6:44 p.m. that his computer and other items were taken from his apartment on Diulius Way while he was on spring break. City police took the report.

A fire alarm was activated in Brackenridge Hall at 9:54 p.m. by a smoking copy machine in Copy Cat. The Pittsburgh Fire Department checked the area.

Tuesday, March 11

In the Cathedral at 4:03 p.m., someone reported the theft of two signs and two speakers.

A resident director reported smelling marijuana on the 14th floor of Tower B. Officers confiscated a small amount.

Wednesday, March 12

A UPMC security person called requesting assistance at 4:29 a.m. in detaining a man in the driveway of Childrens Hospital. Officers warned and escorted the man from the property.

A booted vehicle and the boot that held it in place were reported missing in Sennott Square at 12:04 p.m. The boot belongs to the Pitt Parking Department.

A vehicle parked on the G1 level of Posvar Hall was leaking gas from an overflow vent at 4:33 p.m. The owner was notified, the city fire department checked the area and found no hazards. Facilities Management was notified for cleanup.

Police cited four people in Holland Hall at 11:16 p.m. Nonstudents Katy O’Donnell, 18, of 1144 Lehigh Road, Lauren Whitaker, 18, and Aziza Halloway, 19, of 2691 Crosby Ave., were cited for underage drinking. Nonstudent Sean Boehm, of 117 Chesterfield Road, was cited for defiant trespass.

Thursday, March 13

Custodians using a floor buffer in Salk Hall at 3:55 a.m. set off a fire alarm.

At 5:23 p.m., a strong smell of gas was reported in Clapp Hall. Engineering Health and Safety responded and found the source of the smell to be a lab on the third floor. There was no hazard.

Nonstudent Darneice Chambers, of 604 Midland St., was cited for disorderly conduct at 7:20 p.m. at Parran Hall.

Friday, March 14

At 2:02 a.m., police in Bouquet Gardens cited six people were for underage drinking – Alisha Bazaz, 20, Macall Miller, 20, Julie Kotier, 20, and Diane Lynn Mazeppa, 20, all of 249 Oakland Ave., as well as Paul Johnson, 20, of 221 Halket St., and nonstudent Johnathan Wuchenich, 20, of Bridgeville, Pa.

Jeremy Krouse, 19, of 617 Tower C, was cited for underage drinking at 2:29 a.m. in Tower C.

In Lothrop Hall at 5:26 a.m., Justin Adatepe, 19, of 407 Lothrop Hall, was cited for underage drinking and purchasing alcohol underage.

A vehicle was booted by the Pitt Parking Department near Falk Hall, but the boot and the vehicle were missing at 4:08 p.m. The owner of the vehicle called the station and returned the boot.

Nonstudent Lisa Helt, 19, of 279 Haugh Drive, was arrested for underage drinking at Centre and Craig streets at 11:43 p.m.

Saturday, March 15

At 8:10 p.m., nonstudent Sarah Lynn Coulson, of Lower Burrell, Pa., was arrested for driving under the influence in the 4000 block of Forbes Avenue.

Sunday, March 16

Nonstudent Jason Kettering, of Youngwood, Pa., was arrested for underage drinking at 12:07 a.m. in the 300 block of Oakland Avenue.

Carl Goeringer, of Dallas, Pa., was arrested for disorderly conduct and public intoxication in the 3800 block of Dawson Street at 1:57 a.m.

In Tower A at 2:14 a.m., Bradley Davis, 19, of 507 Tower A, was arrested for underage drinking.

Monday, March 17

Nonstudent Aaron Christopher Park, of Oil City, Pa., was arrested on an Allegheny County warrant for theft at the 3900 block of Forbes Avenue at 5:22 p.m.
