Kelly Sather, a 2015 Bennington College MFA graduate, began writing short stories around 10 years ago. Her first collection of short stories, “Small in Real Life” won the 2023 University of Pittsburgh Press Drue Heinz Literature Prize.

Kate’s Kid Book Bash returned to East Liberty on Saturday for the first time since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. It featured Riverstone Books, as well as more than 28 children’s and young adult authors from Pittsburgh and beyond.
