After this year’s tumultuous Student Government Board election, the board voted Tuesday evening and passed a major governing code reform package released last week, but deferred voting on elections code reforms to the fall.

SGB President Eric Macadangdang said the country has gone through a “multitude” of cycles where Black lives have been lost to white supremacy and police brutality, and “hollow reactions” and “complicit inactivity” are why there has been no real change.

With the nation hotly debating the Democratic primary for the presidency, undergraduate students have the opportunity today to choose a leader much closer to home — the president and board members of Pitt’s Student Government Board.
