Long lines snaked out of the William Pitt Union last November as more than 1,000 students showed up to cast their votes in the 2018 general election.

After a close election, Bethany Hallam won the Democratic primary election for an Allegheny County Council At-Large seat 53.54% to 46.11%, or by 7,450 votes, Tuesday night.

Pittsburghers will have an opportunity to go to the polls for City and county elections in the coming weeks, but the voter registration deadline is closing soon. Pennsylvania residents who wish to vote in the May 21 primary election must register to vote by next Monday.
