Love Made Edible Bakery won “Best Black-Owned Business” in The Pitt News’ annual “Best Of” contest. The bakery opened about a year ago and is located about 20 minutes from Pitt’s campus in Brentwood.

More than 50 Black-owned small businesses selling products such as clothing and body butter lined the street this weekend to kick into gear A Soulful Taste of the Burgh, an annual soul food and music festival meant to spotlight local Black business owners.

The nation’s first and only black beer festival, Fresh Fest Digi Fest, will go digital on Aug. 8.
