By cutting hours for Pitt dining workers, their union argues contractor Compass Group is committing a “direct violation” of its contract. The company said it has “temporarily adjusted hours slightly in order to maintain the working status of all associates.”

Compass Group, Pitt’s new dining contractor, requires all first-year students living on-campus to have unlimited meal plans. Along with new meal plans, students shared their opinions on new food options, dining location changes and safety.

Pitt has selected Compass Group, a British multinational foodservice company, as its new single-source dining contractor beginning July 1.
