Flu rates spike in Allegheny County as doctors analyze causes

The COVID-19 Medical Response Office said flu season is “in full swing” on Pitt’s campus much earlier than its typical peak, raising concerns about the combined impact of the flu and COVID-19 on vulnerable populations.
Many COVID-19 and flu symptoms are indistinguishable, making it especially important to get a flu shot this year.

Pitt offers free flu shots for students amid COVID-19 pandemic
