New apartment complex, The Caroline, coming fall 2027

In the fall of 2027, Walnut Capital Management will expand their University Commons housing hub with the brand new Caroline Apartments. The building — located on McKee and Louisa — is expected to open in September 2027 with 160 units and 480 beds, as each unit houses two to three people.

LGBTQ+ friendly affordable housing breaks ground in Oakland

The apartment building set to be a LGBTQ+ friendly affordable housing community in Oakland is the first of its kind in Western Pennsylvania. The creation of LGBTQ+ affordable housing seeks to address housing disparities and discrimination faced by elders in the community.
Bigelow Boulevard reopened on Dec. 24, marking the completion of the almost $24-million project that began in November 2019.
