Rainbow Alliance celebrates ‘all things queer’ with annual drag show

Despite a broken elevator, Pitt’s Rainbow Alliance managed to host an all-inclusive “grand finale” to its 2022 Pride Week, the annual spring “celebration of all things queer.”
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Pittsburgh’s two main Pride celebrations have been pushed back until the fall.

Pittsburgh pride celebrations moved to fall

According to a May 8 press release from the Delta Foundation of Pittsburgh, the organization that’s hosted Pittsburgh Pride since 2008, the Foundation plans to hold the event on an undetermined fall date. Another local Pride event hosted by SisTers PGH, “People’s Pride PGH 2020 - Breaking the Cistem,” has also been postponed.
The Honors College hosted Vanessa Carter of SisTers PGH at one of its biweekly Community Cafes on Thursday. SisTers PGH focuses on helping trans women in the county jail by providing bail, resources and jobs for trans people.
