Tuesday, Oct. 15

• Someone reported that the gymnastics cage in Trees Hall had… Tuesday, Oct. 15

• Someone reported that the gymnastics cage in Trees Hall had been vandalized at 9:45 a.m. There is an investigation pending.

• At 4:11 p.m., a woman reported that her vehicle was hit by a University bus while she was parked on Lothrop Street. The incident was referred to the University Parking and Transportation Department.

• A fire alarm in Lothrop Hall was activated at 4:51 p.m. The activation was set off by a broken water pipe on the first floor, which leaked water into the basement. The building was evacuated when the water leaked into the transformer. University engineers handled the problem.

Wednesday, Oct. 16

• In the Music Building, at 1:58 a.m., an officer said a drainpipe was clogged, causing minimal water damage to the basement area.

• At 6:15 a.m., at Craig Hall, someone reported a water leak, which was causing the ceiling to fall. Facilities Management was notified.

• Door handles were removed from an area in Posvar Hall at 12:56 p.m. The incident was handled at the scene.

• Someone reported being harassed by an aggressive panhandler at 1:06 p.m., but did not want to press charges. No location was given.

• In Trees Hall at 1:48 p.m., paramedics responded for a man who was injured when weights fell on his chest. He was transported to Veterans Affairs Medical Center for treatment.

• Nickolas Allen Kernich, 18, of 212 West Sutherland Hall, was cited for underage drinking at 10:45 p.m. in Sutherland Hall.

Thursday, Oct. 17

• A doctor and a woman were transported to Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic for voluntary commitment at 4:33 p.m.

Friday, Oct. 18

• Pitt police assisted city police with a foot chase through the Sports Medicine Complex at 12:26 a.m.

• An officer observed two women fighting in front of Joe Mama’s Restaurant at 1:27 a.m.

• At 5:38 a.m., paramedics arrived at Litchfield Towers in response to an intoxicated man who needed medical attention. He was transported to the UPMC Presbyterian emergency room for treatment.

• A woman called about a man who had been stalking her from the Cathedral of Learning at 10:58 a.m. Eric R. Schreiber, of 712 Pittsburgh St., was cited for harassment.

• Katherine Seilus, of 806 Holland Hall, and Genevieve Tufaro, of 1006 Holland Hall, were cited for public drunkenness at 8:47 p.m. No location was given.

• Police responded to a report at 10:47 p.m. that there was possible marijuana use on the seventh floor of Lothrop Hall. The resident director was escorted to the scene and the items were confiscated. Student Life will handle the incident. The confiscated items were placed in evidence.

Saturday, Oct. 19

• In the William Pitt Union at 1:07 a.m., an officer reported a fight. Corey Raynard Alston, 20, of 1232 Lincoln Ave., was cited for underage drinking. Nonstudent Raymond Allen Carter II, of Ambridge, Pa., was arrested for disorderly conduct, defiant trespass and failure to disperse.

• At Sigma Chi at 2:54 a.m., Molly Lynn Kwiatkowski, 18, of Erie, Pa., was cited for underage drinking.

• Jesse S. Horstman, 20, of Collegeville, Pa., was cited for underage drinking at 3:06 a.m. Police did not provide a location.

• At 3:29 a.m. in Sutherland Hall, a man reported that unknown people poured Listerine all over his belongings.

• A juvenile was arrested for underage possession of alcohol in the Union at 3:36 a.m. The juvenile was taken to the station and released to his or her parents.

• Nonstudent Khalif Rhodes, of Meadville, Pa., was arrested for disorderly conduct and failure to disperse at the Union at 3:55 a.m.

• In the Towers View Garage at 11:18 a.m., officers checked on a report of a dog in the garage. Animal control was notified and retrieved the dog.

Sunday, Oct. 20

• At 12:12 a.m., in Delta Tau Delta, Steven Benso, 18, of 411 Tower B, was cited for underage drinking.

• Jonathan Lee Zeigler, 19, of Mohnton, Pa., was cited for underage drinking at Sigma Chi at 12:29 a.m.

• An officer was dealing with a minor accident where drivers were exchanging information at 12:30 a.m., when the officer recovered a gun in plain sight in the vehicle. Nonstudent Virgil A. Richmond, of 3517 Frazier St., was arrested for violation of a firearms act, receiving stolen property and drunk driving.

• Ryan J. Gallagher, 19, of Wilkes-Barre, Pa., was cited for underage drinking at Sigma Chi at 12:41 a.m.

• At 12:53 a.m., in Sigma Alpha Epsilon house, Dana Serio, 18, of 1916 Tower B, was cited for underage drinking.

• Greer Tiver, 18, of Medford, N.J., was cited for underage drinking at 2:26 a.m. No location was provided.

• Police received a report at 2:35 a.m. that three men who were refused entry at a fraternity party at Sigma Alpha Epsilon showed a gun in their waistbands and left the area. Police checked the area, but did not find them.

• In Posvar Hall at 3:14 a.m., Rachel Peters, 20, and Casey Peters, 19, of Brownsville, Pa., were cited for underage drinking.

• Michael J. Devinney, 18, of West Sunbury, Pa., was cited for underage drinking at the Law School 3:39 a.m.

• In the Schenley Quadrangle 4:01 a.m., Sean Spielvogle, 19, of Altoona, Pa., was cited for underage drinking.

• Police retrieved a Gator, a golf cart-sized vehicle, from three juveniles who were riding it at 4:46 p.m. The Gator was secured at Fitzgerald Field House.

• Police received a report of a 19-year-old woman who was pale and weak in Bouquet Gardens at 7:26 p.m. Paramedics were notified and they checked on the person.

Monday, Oct. 21

• Michael R. Finelli, of 3406 Parkview Ave., was arrested for burglary in Posvar Hall at 1:39 a.m. Editor’s note: These charges were dropped in October 2002. – Jessica Lear, editor in chief

• At 8:17 p.m., a juvenile was arrested for theft by unlawful taking. No location was given.
