Friday, Feb. 18
7:15 p.m. — Officers in Sutherland Hall, along with Residence Life staff, investigated an incident of a person entering another person’s room by mistake. Police found the incident to be non-criminal, and handling of the situation was turned over to Residence Life staff.
Saturday, Feb. 19
12:14 a.m. — Student Albert Demauro, of 979 Wellesly Road, was cited on York Way for disorderly conduct.
2:10 a.m. — Police in Litchfield Towers Lobby cited students Kenneth A. Grossberg, of East Amherst, N.Y., and nonaffiliate Andrew J. Bodkin, of East Amherst, N.Y., for underage drinking.
2:12 a.m. — Nonaffiliate Rohan Talwar, of 5118 Beeler St., was arrested in Posvar Hall for presenting false ID to law enforcement authorities.
3:10 a.m. — Police in Sutherland Hall cited nonaffiliates James Lee Prezioso, of 2 Brucewood Drive, and Andrew Walker Davidson, of 121 Rock Haven Lane, for underage drinking.
5:35 a.m. — A guard in Tower B reported a man sleeping across from the Towers’ laundry facilities. Officers cited nonaffiliate Andrew J. Demchak for public drunkenness.
11:49 p.m. — Student Casey James Kornotto, of 317 Meyran Ave., was cited in Bouquet Gardens, Building C, for underage drinking.
Sunday, Feb. 20
1:01 a.m. — Police in Bouquet Gardens, Building C, cited nonaffiliates Pouja A. Ahuja, of Allentown, Pa., and Jennifer Sieger, of 5032 Forbes Ave., for underage drinking.
3:14 a.m. — Nonaffiliate Barry Dougherty, of 2627 Phillip Drive, was arrested for disorderly conduct at 348 Oakland Ave.
3:19 p.m. — A student at the Pi Kappa Alpha house reported that a window had been broken. Police found a brick at the scene. The incident was cleared.
8:25 p.m. — A woman in a 310 Oakland Ave. apartment reported finding a chair under her bedroom window. Officers investigated and found that this had happened before. An investigation is pending.
Monday, Feb. 21
2:31 a.m. — Police in Holland Hall cited nonaffiliate Michael C. Cubbage Jr., of Freemansburg, Pa., for criminal mischief.
2:35 a.m. — An officer assisted city police in responding to six shots fired in the area near Forbes Avenue and Bouquet Street. No one was injured. Officers stopped a suspected vehicle at the intersection of Forbes and Morewood avenues, and the occupants were turned over to city police.
Tuesday, March 1
7:38 a.m. — The east side of Pitt’s campus experienced a power outage, caused by problems at Duquesne Light. Power was restored at 8:42 a.m.
10:48 a.m. — A University truck struck a wall behind the Frick Fine Arts building, causing debris to fall on and damage another vehicle. An officer assisted with the exchange of information.
11:44 a.m. — The investigation unit monitored a demonstration outside the University Book Center.
Thursday, March 3
9:53 a.m. — An officer responded to a report of a suspicious person in Posvar Hall. Officers identified the man and told him to leave the area.
Friday, March 4
12:56 a.m. — Officers in Towers cited student Blair Cillo, of Williamsport, Pa., for underage drinking.
1:52 a.m. — Student Elizabeth Cervini, of Malvern, Pa., was cited in Bouquet Gardens for underage drinking.
4:23 a.m. — A failed pressure gauge in the Towers sprinkler system activated the fire alarm system, and a broken pipe caused major flooding.
11:02 a.m. — Officers assisted city police with an assault investigation by stopping a suspect on Bigelow Boulevard.
12:08 p.m. — Officers cited and towed vehicles parked in a posted area on Bigelow Boulevard, which was closed for spring break bus detail.
12:50 p.m. — A person reported the off-campus violation of a protection-from-abuse order. The person was referred to city police, and the incident was cleared.
1:10 p.m. — Nonaffiliate Antionette Saunders, of 2471 Perrysville Ave., was arrested for defiant trespass near Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic.
2:20 p.m. — Officers extinguished a burning trashcan on the patio of Posvar Hall. Police notified the grounds crew and cleared the incident.
2:39 p.m. — A student reported that someone had used her University e-mail account to purchase phone service. An investigation is pending.
3:30 p.m. — Officers in the Cathedral of Learning checked on two juveniles riding the elevators. Both of the juveniles were given trespass warnings and were escorted from the building.
6:13 p.m. — Police near the intersection of Atwood Street and Meyran Avenue arrested nonaffiliate Stanley Zock, of Portage, Pa., on an outstanding warrant from Cambria County.
Saturday, March 5
3:23 a.m. — A woman in Tower A reported that a known person tore postings from her door. An investigation is pending.
9:15 p.m. — A person at the Petersen Events Center reported being assaulted and was transported to the hospital by city medics.
11:58 p.m. — Police cited nonaffiliate Leon J. Predis, of 297 Main St., for defiant trespass at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.
Monday, March 7
12:10 a.m. — Nonaffiliate Kevin McQuoid, of 1333 Brinton Road, was arrested near the intersection of Forbes Avenue and Bigelow Boulevard for driving under the influence.
10:10 a.m. — The resident director of Forbes Hall reported that someone had broken the glass in multiple fire extinguisher cabinets and that two extinguishers had been discharged. An investigation is pending.
8:47 p.m. — An officer extinguished a fire in a trashcan in the Lily Court.
Tuesday, March 8
8:06 a.m. — An ambulance became stuck in the snow while waiting for a Life Flight on the Athletic Field. The city Fire Department assisted the ambulance driver, and officers noted some damage to the field.
2:37 p.m. — Workers accidentally broke glass in the revolving door at the Fifth Avenue entrance to the Cathedral of Learning.
Wednesday, March 9
8:57 a.m. — A woman reported finding pry marks on her office door in Salk Hall.
10:53 a.m. — Hillman Library computer staff members reported the theft of computer parts from a computer. An investigation is pending.
8:44 p.m. — Officers assisted city police in searching for a robbery suspect on the 400 block of Atwood Street.
Saturday, March 12
2:20 a.m. — Officers in the 3900 block of Forbes Avenue cited student Joseph Gentino, of Lititz, Pa., for underage drinking.
8:27 a.m. — An officer in Benedum Hall found that items had been taken from a vending machine.
9:03 a.m. — Pitt police and city medics responded to a medical emergency in the 700 block of Devonshire Street.
8:06 p.m. — A person reported being robbed on the Chevron Science Center side stairway. An investigation is pending.
Sunday, March 13
12:33 a.m. — Police in Tower A cited student Matthew Brian Shusko, of Saltsburg, Pa., for underage drinking.
1:13 a.m. — Pitt police assisted city police dealing with an intoxicated person near the intersection of Bates Street and Meyran Avenue.
Monday, March 14
12:26 p.m. — A staff member in the Cathedral of Learning reported people were attempting to obtain information about other staff members. The people were referred to command staff.
1:13 p.m. — Swim program supervisors in the Field House reported inappropriate actions by a program member.
8:59 p.m. — A woman in Lothrop Hall reported construction workers using binoculars to see into her room.
