Musicians will perform at the celebration and specially designed T-shirts with a yet-to-be-determined theme will be produced. The venue will also offer a forum for people to speak and the media to report.

Well, Miami City Commissioner Tomas Regalado, who is of Cuban decent, suggested the venue because of the symmetry it offers. In 1961, President Kennedy delivered a speech promising a free Cuba in the Orange Bowl, and in the ’80s, Cuban refugees camped out there after fleeing to America.

“Basically, the only thing we’re trying to do is have a venue, a giant venue ready for people, if they wish, to speak to the media, to show their emotions. It’s not that we’re doing an official death party,” Regalado said in the article.
