7:52 p.m. – Officers assisted UPMC Security with a person who was attempting to take a firearm into UPMC Presbyterian.

11:24 a.m. – A man stuck in an elevator in Biomedical Science Tower 3 released himself with the help of officers.

12:16 p.m. – An officer issued a citation and towed a car for parking in a posted area in the 3500 block of Aliquippa Street.

3:57 p.m. – A Pitt shuttle driver reported being struck by another vehicle – which left the scene – in the 3900 block of Forbes Avenue.

5:13 p.m. – A student who lives off campus reported receiving harassing phone calls.

6:40 p.m. – An officer issued a citation to a driver who struck him with his car while the officer was directing traffic.

7:40 p.m. – A group of people reported that a Pitt shuttle struck their car at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and McKee Place, and left the scene.

7:58 p.m. – Someone in Benedum Hall reported an incident of indecent exposure in the computer lab. An investigation is pending.

Saturday, March 4

2:24 a.m. – Police arrested non-affiliate Scott Alan Moore, of West Leechburg, Pa., for driving under the influence in the 3700 block of Forbes Avenue.

4:40 a.m. – Residents of a building in Bouquet Gardens extinguished an exterior garbage can fire with a fire extinguisher from inside the building.

4:21 p.m. – Officers assisted city police in an unsuccessful pursuit of a stolen car at the intersection of Craig and Bayard streets.

11:28 p.m. – Non-affiliate Harold Shields, of Braddock, Pa., was arrested on an outstanding warrant from the Pittsburgh Police Department at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Bigelow Boulevard.

Monday, March 6

9:30 a.m. – Officers assisted city police with a reported burglary at 207 Atwood St.

1:46 p.m. – A book store in the 3600 block of Forbes Avenue reported that a person sold them books that may have been stolen.

2:41 p.m. – Police arrested non-student Valerie Manna, of Coraopolis, Pa., for retail theft in the Book Center. Police also arrested student Aaron Ray Anderson, of Crescent, Pa., for possession of drug paraphernalia in the Book Center.

4:54 p.m. – Staff members in Trees Hall reported that the lock on the door of the weight room had been broken.

Tuesday, March 7

2:20 a.m. – Non-affiliate Aaron Gold, of 234 Gerrie Drive, was arrested for trespassing in the 3900 block of Forbes Avenue.

9:19 a.m. – A staff member in Trees Hall reported finding damage to the lawn and a parking bollard outside the building.

12:17 p.m. – A staff member in Trees Hall reported the theft of keys from her office.

3:40 p.m. – A woman reported that credit cards were taken from her car.

5:45 p.m. – Several people reported that items were taken from their packs in Trees Hall. An investigation is pending.

11:11 p.m. – Custodians reported a suspicious case found near a trash container. Officers checked the case and located its owner, who was discarding the item. The incident was cleared.

Wednesday, March 8

8:08 a.m. – An officer issued a citation and towed a car that was parked in a no parking area in the 3700 block of Terrace Street.

9:12 a.m. – Someone in Hillman Library reported receiving harassing e-mails. An investigation is pending.

12:28 p.m. – Police cited a juvenile for disorderly conduct in the 3900 block of Forbes Avenue.

4:35 p.m. – Several people reported that money and property were taken from their office in the Learning Research Development Center. An investigation is pending.

9:27 p.m. – An officer took a report for an accident involving a UPMC shuttle that struck the Victoria Building.

11:31 p.m. – A guard in David Lawrence Hall reported that a vending machine on the third floor had been broken into. An investigation is pending.

Friday, March 10

4:46 p.m. – Someone in Alumni Hall reported receiving harassing phone calls and e-mails. An investigation is pending.

5:30 p.m. – Police towed a vehicle that was parked in a no parking area on O’Hara Street.

Saturday, March 11

5:26 a.m. – An officer requested assistance with the removal of a disorderly person from the emergency room of UPMC Presbyterian.

3:18 p.m. – Officers discovered an unsecured vending machine in David Lawrence Hall. The company responsible for the machine was notified.

3:32 p.m. – Officers responded to a burglary intrusion alarm in Hillman Library. The area was found to be secure.

7:43 p.m. – Police assisted the Pittsburgh Fire Department with a vehicle on fire on Boundary Street.

8:16 p.m. – A man in the Petersen Events Center reported the theft of his laptop computer. An investigation is pending.

Sunday, March 12

4 a.m. – Officers assisted city police in responding to damage caused to the Gold Building by a vehicle hitting a utility poll, which caused the pole to go into the building.

1:04 p.m. – Police arrested nonaffiliate William Longo, of 17 Slate St., for receiving stolen property on Frank Curto Drive.

11:42 p.m. – Police arrested nonaffiliates Larry Nix, of Pontiac, Mich., and Darris Lawton, of Smyrna, Ga., for fleeing and eluding police on Tennyson Street.
