Fashion trends change with different season

By DEENA CAMPBELL

Spring is finally here and it’s time to stash away those furry sweaters and tired tweed… Spring is finally here and it’s time to stash away those furry sweaters and tired tweed coats. With the seasons’ bright and flowery colors, spring is ready to blossom.

But before you start worrying about what you’re going to wear, hit the brakes and slow down — you know I wouldn’t leave you hanging.

The fashion grapevine assured me that you don’t have to hail from the O.C to cop a Prada-inspired style, this year’s sexiest pieces can be found at local stores and better yet, your own closet. So sit back and relax as I give you a mini-tour of this spring’s springing styles.

1. Turquoise, turquoise, turquoise! Just when you thought you’d seen enough of that color on jewelry and accessories last year, the blue-green color is back again this season and can be found on every eye-catching print. Whether it be Bermuda shorts, large bracelets, or even strapless shirts, turquoise can be found on EVERYTHING. So wear turquoise; it’s that endless color option that begs the question: Are you ready for the beach?

2. Metallic Sandals. Stop! It’s time to put your “bling bling” aside for a minute and start shining with your feet. That’s right, this season warrants shine from the ground up, giving the head-to-toe idea a complete flip-flop.

Attract eyes to your newly pedicured feet by sporting shiny and sparkly shoes of different styles.

And, your metallic sandals don’t have to be silver or gold, metallic styles look best in pastel hues and. of course … turquoise.

3. Fit and flare dresses. Sometimes fashionable pieces aren’t always invented, in many cases they’re reinvented. And that’s just the idea for this springs’ full skirted dresses with clinched waists. Taken straight from the ’20 and ’30s, this season’s dresses are frilly, giving a prettier and feminine feel to your wardrobe.

And if dresses aren’t your forte, try purchasing a flare skirt. “Big skirts” add a new sense of proportion to this spring’s trends, so women of all shapes and sizes can be comfortable frolicking in the new, breezy fabric style.

4. Shrunken blazers. Worn just above your waist, shrunken blazers give a more tailored look. Because they are collared and fitted, blazers can be dressed up with collared shirts to give a professional appearance.

But for now, we won’t concern ourselves with the sophisticated new era of dressing. How ’bout you wear your blazer to show off that sexy lace camisole! Shrunken blazers often look best in bright colors with lacey tops to punctuate the new sexy look. So when the summer heat is at its hilt, put your tiny blazer aside and show off your eye-popping lacey top.

5. Ballerina flats. Tired of always rocking flip-flops during the warmer months, but you still want a shoe that’s flat and comfortable? This spring season’s ballerina shoe is right up your alley.

Now you can have the comfort of a flat shoe, while maintaining the attractive style of a dancer. These enclosed shoes may get hot, during the summer months, but with the option of it being a small heeled mule, your feet can breathe as you slip in and out of your fashionable shoe.

While this is not a complete list of the upcoming trends for the season, it’s a start for a fresh new you. Spring is here and summer is sneaking around the corner waiting to bite you in the rear end if you aren’t prepared. So wear your turquoise-colored shrunken blazer with your fit and flared skirt — you’ll be ready for an exotic getaway in no time.
