Season ticket frustrations abound
October 19, 2004
That the same online purchasing process as last year for student basketball tickets was… That the same online purchasing process as last year for student basketball tickets was utilized this year indicates a complete lack of care for the student fans. The site was completely inadequate for the number of attempts to access it.
I was trying to purchase tickets since noon. At one point, I had tickets for conference games “reserved.” At another, I had tickets for non-conference games “reserved.” At no time was I able to actually purchase these tickets. My girlfriend, and every other friend that I have spoken to about this, experienced the same frustration.
My level of frustration is actually hard to describe. I was one of the lucky few to get basketball tickets last year because the Web site broke for me early and directed me to call the ticket office. This year, you scheduled the sale for a day when your office is closed, preventing any students from avoiding this awful online system.
Instead of learning from last year’s mistakes, you have deepened them. Instead of an equitable system of distribution, you have chosen one where all experience extreme frustration. Only those willing (and able) to waste an entire Sunday, and lucky enough to not have the server crash their Web page at the wrong time, received tickets.
Your organization has orchestrated another complete failure. Congratulations.
Yours truly,
Dave Lewis
