Girls Gone Wild not the way to go

Finally, the female students at Pitt can do their part in helping Joe Francis (GGW creator) add to his $100 million empire by baring their breasts free of charge. And the very best part? They can show their friends, family, classmates and millions of strangers how wild they are.

Joe Francis has produced around 80 “Girls Gone Wild” videos that have earned him a cool hundred million dollars in revenue. If each video contains 50 pairs of breasts (which is probably an accurate estimate), every girl who has been featured on these videos has made Francis 25 grand. That’s not too bad for 10 seconds of work. This leads to the question, why do none of these young ladies receive royalty checks every month?

Ladies, you may want to consider something before pulling your shirt up in front a nightclub full of unfamiliar faces. You can earn money with your naked body. You could be an exotic dancer, a topless masseuse or a Perfect 10 model. If you’re going to get disowned by your parents and ruin your chances of running for public office, you might as well get paid for it.

People are very quick to judge women who use their bodies to make a living, arguing that they are selling their bodies at the expense of their self-respect. I argue that it is worse to get drunk and show your breasts to potentially the whole world for free. You get nothing in return except, hopefully, a big dose of regret in the morning. In my opinion, any woman who uses her body to make a living is far more respectable.

If you’re worried that you will be unable to make it to Bash on Saturday, don’t worry. You can still support Francis. I’m sure he accepts donation checks on behalf of “Girls Gone Wild.” And if it will make you feel better, you can walk to the mailbox topless.
