Tuesday, July 8

-A person reported the theft of a shipment of books from the Sennott Square area at 10:01 a.m.

-At 2:24 p.m., a caller reported that a suspicious man had been in the area of the football training facility on July 3.

-A driver ran over three trees on the Forbes Avenue side of the Hillman Library at 2:51 p.m. Police reported that the driver’s brakes failed to work, causing him to run over the trees to slow down. The driver was cited for driving with a suspended license and his vehicle was towed.

-Police received a report at 8:57 p.m. that lightning struck the office building at 121 University Place, causing bricks to fall from the chimney. Officers taped off the area below the damage and notified engineers.

-At 2:02 a.m., officers cited Neal Hurley, of 3005 Dell Ave., for public intoxication outside Cumpie’s Restaurant ‘amp; Lounge at Atwood and Sennott streets.

Wednesday, July 9

-A woman in Posvar Hall reported at 2:14 p.m that her wallet was stolen in Erie, Pa. Police advised the woman to file a report with the Erie Police Department.

-At 4:23 p.m., officers received a report of a man videotaping women on the street near 3990 Forbes Avenue. Police interviewed the man, who said he would no longer videotape at that location.

-Officers assisted Pittsburgh city police at 7:53 p.m. with a fight at the corner of Fifth Avenue and Atwood Street.

Thursday, July 10

-Police assisted city police in arresting a person at 5:26 p.m. on the railroad tracks near Boundary Street.

Friday, July 11

-An officer made a traffic stop at Atwood and Louisa streets at 1:18 a.m., issuing two citations and confiscating a suspended driver’s license.

-At 2:28 a.m., police cited nonaffiliates Jason Dean Matthews, of Norristown, Pa., Emmanuel Sloan, of 3796 Bates Street, and James Boyd, of 3275 Liberty Avenue, Apt. 1, for criminal mischief at Bates and Atwood streets.

-At 2:13 p.m. police assisted the city police with an armed robbery case at 3507 Victoria Way.

-Someone reported lab equipment in a Langley Hall room stolen at 4:23 p.m. An investigation is pending.

-Someone reported a laptop computer stolen from the Biomedical Science Tower at 4:23 p.m. An investigation is pending.

-At 11:08 p.m., nonaffiliate Greggory Stone, of 3606 Frazier St., was arrested for loitering and prowling.

Saturday, July 12

-Richard Okewole, of 111 Chesterfield St., was cited for retail theft at the CVS on the 3400 block of Forbes Avenue at 12:11 a.m.

-Police assisted the city police with a robbery and home invasion investigation on the 300 block of South Bouquet Street at 2:32 a.m.

Sunday, July 13

-Police cited student Michael Jeske, 5723 Hobart St., for underage drinking on the 300 block of South Bouquet Street at 1:15 a.m.

-After parking enforcement activities, police identified a stolen car in the FB parking lot at 4:22 a.m. When officers returned to the area, the vehicle was gone.
