• Pittsburgh Symphony will open its 2002-2003 season at Heinz Hall with a performance featuring Yo-Yo Ma at 8 p.m.

• Men’s soccer will play the University of Connecticut at 1 p.m. at Founders Field.

• The women’s volleyball team takes on the University of Maryland, Baltimore County at 1 p.m. in Fitzgerald Field House, and then George Washington University at 7:30 p.m.

Sunday, Sept. 22

• The women’s soccer team will play Rutgers University at 1 p.m. at Founders Field.

Tuesday, Sept. 24

• The Center for Philosophy will host a lunchtime talk,”Hume’s Perceptions,” in Room 817 Cathedral of Learning at 12:05 p.m.

Wednesday, Sept. 25

• The University Chamber Orchestra will play a free concert at the Benedum Hall Auditorium at 8 p.m.
