Artist Michael Pestel, dressed in black and holding his flute, steps onto the shallow bed of sand-colored pebbles that the audience is gathered around. Slowly he paces to the other side of the rectangular bed, causing a ripple of bird chirps to rise from speakers placed at each corner. The audience watches intently, momentarily turning away to catch a quick glimpse of the nature film projected onto the back wall.
