Pitt band prepares to celebrate alumni in homecoming performance

Pitt band members spent most of last year practicing marching drills in their dorm rooms over Zoom. Although unable to practice in person during their senior year, last year’s graduates can apply their skills on the field one last time this weekend.

As concerts and other live performances have begun to return, one question lingers in the air — is the risk of exposure worth the experience? For Pitt students, there is a common feeling of cautious excitement about the return of concerts.
Carla Nappi and David Marshall, co-directors of Pitt’s Humanities Center, are bringing together professors from across dozens of disciplines to talk about their published books, in a new series called “Book Duets,” the first of which aired on Zoom this Thursday.

The new Humanities Center “Book Duet” series aired its first showing this Thursday with Carla Nappi and David Marshall as its stars. They presented their recently published books — “Translating Early Modern China'' and “The Weimar Origins of Rhetorical Inquiry.”
Starring Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton and Hailee Steinfield as Kate Bishop, Hawkeye will debut on Disney+ Nov. 24 and will run for six episodes, airing an episode each week.
