Pitt to distribute more than $15 million to students from federal COVID-19 aid

Pitt is distributing more than $15 million directly to student financial aid from federal COVID-19 funds, the University announced in a Thursday morning press release.
Melissa McGivney, the associate dean for community partnerships at the School of Pharmacy, discussed Pitt’s vaccination efforts at Wednesday afternoon’s Senate Council meeting hosted via Zoom. Other officials addressed COVID-19 on campus and Pitt’s uncertain budget outlook at the meeting.

Pitt added eight new COVID-19 cases, composed of five students and three employees, between Tuesday and Thursday, with 14 students currently in isolation. The University’s previous case report, covering last Friday to Monday, included 13 cases.
