Pitt guard Trey McGowen broke a 39-year record and Pitt ended a 690 day losing streak on Wednesday night in its 89-86 win over Louisville.

Facing off against a team known for its suffocating defense, the young Panthers’ inexperience was on full display in a 69-59 loss to West Virginia Saturday afternoon in the 186th edition of the Backyard Brawl.

Pitt drops close contest to Niagara, 71-70

After being held scoreless for the first three minutes of their game on Monday, the Panthers lost their first game of the season at home on Monday night. Pitt tried to rally in the final second of the game, but it wasn't enough and Niagara won 71-70.
