Pitt added eight new COVID-19 cases, composed of six students and two employees, between last Friday and Monday, with 39 students currently in isolation.
Catherine Pressimone, a rising third-year medical student and cofounder of Pitt Influenzers, said she founded the club based on three areas she felt needed more attention and awareness from the people, with one of their primary initiatives being to pass legislation that allows dentists to administer COVID-19 and Influenza vaccines.

Pitt added 15 new COVID-19 cases, composed of 13 students and two employees, between Tuesday and Thursday, with 24 students currently in isolation. The University’s previous case report, covering last Friday to Monday, included 15 cases.
Melissa McGivney, the associate dean for community partnerships at the School of Pharmacy, discussed Pitt’s vaccination efforts at Wednesday afternoon’s Senate Council meeting hosted via Zoom. Other officials addressed COVID-19 on campus and Pitt’s uncertain budget outlook at the meeting.

A group of Pitt students teamed up to launch vaccinatepa.org, a website that crowdsources vaccine availability data in Pennsylvania to allow people to find out where they can get a vaccine appointment more easily.
Dr. Moore is a professor of microbiology and molecular genetics who helped to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the Pfizer vaccine with 20 other voting members.
