Track, gymnastics harbor hardware after first weekend

Outside of the basketball teams, Pitt athletics had a relaxed start to the semester. The track and field and gymnastics squads were the only teams with events over the weekend, with both taking home hardware.

Pitt sports had a busy Thanksgiving break, with many games bridging the week-long gap. Volleyball concluded regular season play in dominating fashion, while both the men’s and women’s basketball teams took part in traditional early-season tournaments.

Pitt football made the trek north Friday to Syracuse for the 75th all-time meeting with its former Big East and current ACC rivals, the Orange. This year’s installation of Panthers football has developed a flare for the dramatic, to put it lightly.
