Pitt flounders in second half, losses 77-61 at Syracuse

Pitt men’s basketball followed up its first conference win of the season by laying an egg in the second half at Syracuse. The Panthers got outscored by 13 in the second half and suffered their third loss by double-digits.

Another day, another one-possession loss for Pitt men’s basketball. The Panthers faltered down the stretch of Tuesday night’s conference contest against Louisville before ultimately falling 75-72 at the KFC Yum! Center.

Femi Oduklae’s career-high-tying 28 points carried the offense in a 64-55 win over Jacksonville on Tuesday afternoon at the Pete. The Panthers concluded the non-conference portion of their schedule and will now prepare for the start of ACC play.

Pitt men’s basketball head coach Jeff Capel said his team was “tired of almost” after two consecutive one-possession losses. But the Panthers didn’t let those gut-punch losses pile up, and instead escaped with a 71-68 win over Colgate on Thursday night.

Loewe’s put-back stuns Panthers in 54-53 loss to Minnesota

Luke Loewe scored just two points on Tuesday night against Pitt, but they were the biggest of the game. Minnesota, despite trailing for most of the evening, stole a 54-53 win from the Panthers in the ACC-Big 10 Challenge.
