SGB congratulates faculty on forming union, discusses possible ‘green fee’

Pitt’s Student Government Board congratulated faculty at their Tuesday public meeting on voting overwhelmingly to form a union, and also discussed student organization budgets, spring SGB election and a potential “green fee.”

SGB working on faculty unionization statement, addresses student concerns

While the Student Government Board voted last week not to sign onto a statement written by other student leaders in support of the ongoing faculty union election, President Harshitha Ramanan said Tuesday that the board is working on its own.
Destiny Mann, the president of the Black Action Society at Pitt. Mann said BAS’s overall goal is to ensure that Black students at Pitt feel welcome on campus, and know that their voices and needs are heard.
