Dion Lewis is on pace for breaking his career-highs in yards and touchdowns. He had 194 yards and three touchdowns last year against Cincinnati at a snowy Heinz Field.
In the first half of another snowy game, Lewis already has three touchdowns and 164 yards.
Last year, the Panthers blew a 21-point lead over the Bearcats and lost 45-44 to give the Bearcats their second straight Big East championship.
In the first quarter of this year’s game, Max Gruder came up with two big turnovers for the Panthers. First, he recovered a fumble as the Bearcats were driving toward the end zone.
Then, he caught an interception which was tipped by Chas Alecxih. Three plays later, Lewis broke free for a 76-yard touchdown run.
For the Bearcats, quarterback Chas Collaros threw a touchdown pass to Anthony McClung, and then Jacob Rogers made a field goal near the end of the half.
