Sheard pleaded guilty on Wednesday to a disorderly conduct charge and will apologize as well as pay the medical bills for Edward Parker, the other person involved in the incident.

Coach Dave Wannstedt said that while Sheard is back with the team, he is still subject to internal discipline and accountability.

“This situation with Jabaal was, as surprising as it was, disappointing to me,” Wannstedt said in a press release. “Until this incident, his behavior has always been representative of the high standards we have for our program on and off the field. I’m confident he will learn from this and be wiser moving forward.”
