According to the Pittsburgh Fire Bureau, an alarm was set off at 10:39 a.m. Pitt spokeswoman Sharon Blake said it was triggered by dust generated by construction workers.

Pitt student Natalie Grauel was on her way from Panther Hall to get breakfast at Einsten Bros. Bagels in Benedum but instead found everyone standing outside the building.

Grauel said she didn’t smell smoke.

“I was just angry because I couldn’t get breakfast,” she said.

By 11:30 a.m., things were back to normal, and Einstein Bros. Bagels was open.
