Lewis is the only true freshman on the lists. Through nine games, he has rushed for 1,139 yards and 12 touchdowns on 203 carriess — Lewis also has one receiving touchdown.
Lewis matched Tony Dorsett’s Pitt record by needing just eight games to reach 1,000 yards as a freshman. The NCAA record is seven games, achieved by only five players.
Last week, Lewis was named a semifinalist for the Maxwell College Football Player of the Year Award.
Three finalists for the award will be announced on Nov. 23. The winner will be announced live on The Home Depot ESPNU College Football Awards Show on Dec. 10.
