French fries, hold the O — Essie’s Original Hot Dog Shop has temporarily closed for renovations.

The Oakland restaurant, located on the corner of South Bouquet Street and Forbes Avenue, displayed white, circular signs with the words, “Sorry, closed for remodeling” scrawled in yellow and pink marker.

Ladders stood inside and outside while two men moved about inside. 

One of the men refused to comment on the renovations.
