The clean cut quartet of Beatles enthusiasts 1964 … The Tribute remembers. ‘ ‘ ‘ Renowned by Rolling Stone as the ‘best Beatles tribute on Earth,’ the group of Mark Benson (John), Gary Grimes (Paul), Tom Work (George) and Terry Manfredi (Ringo) will perform at the Benedum Center tonight. ‘ ‘ ‘ After a recent show at Carnegie Hall on Jan. 10, members are anxious to return to Pittsburgh where they played their first show. ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘When you ask a contemporary artist who some of their primary influences are, they will most likely say The Beatles,’ said band promoter Mark Johnson. ‘Any fan of the Beatles will love this show.’ ‘ ‘ ‘ Fans of the lads from Liverpool are in for a show complete with vintage clothes, instruments and even onstage banter. Entering its 25th year together, the band uses no canned music or synthesizers to recreate Beatles classics. ‘ ‘ ‘ The first set features hits like, ‘I Saw Her Standing There,’ ‘All My Loving’ and ‘A Hard Day’s Night.’ A 16-piece orchestra, limited to big venue shows, will join the band for its second set and accompany it on a multitude of favorites including ‘Eleanor Rigby,’ ‘Yellow Submarine’ and ‘In My Life.’ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘Today’s college student is much more sophisticated in their musical tastes,’ said Johnson. ‘It is great to see a 20-year-old kid singing ‘I Want to Hold Your Hand’ to his girlfriend.’
