Of all the noteworthy things said at Fox News’ Republican debate in South Carolina – and… Of all the noteworthy things said at Fox News’ Republican debate in South Carolina – and there were many – Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney’s suggestion that we ought to “double” Guantanamo, Rep. Tom Tancredo’s (R-Co.) promise to secure the national security assistance of “24’s” Jack Bauer and moderator Brit Hume’s bizarre reference to fictitious terrorist attacks on U.S. shopping malls, just to name a few – perhaps none received the attention of Rep. Ron Paul’s (R-Texas) suggestion that anger over the U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East was a cause for the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
