With the school year creeping to a close, the next president of Pitt’s Black Action Society… With the school year creeping to a close, the next president of Pitt’s Black Action Society is confidently underway in making improvements for the black community at Pitt, by, as she said, “Putting the ‘action’ back into Black Action Society.”
Sheila Isong, a junior at Pitt, and her running mate, junior O’Brian Hunter, were recently elected the president and vice president of BAS.
Compared to a decade ago, Isong believes that black students are not as active today “because a decade ago issues were seemingly more pressing,” she said.
