Sort of.

According to SGB elections committee chair Jeff Alex, a complaint will be put before the committee at 9:15 p.m. today. If the committee agrees to hear it, each side will be given 30 minutes to present its case, and then a ruling will be made.

Alex said he couldn’t comment on any of the participants until the complaint became official, but did say that, if the ruling by the elections committee was not sufficient, either party could make an appeal to the judicial committee, which would hold another hearing and have a ruling within three business days.

The meetings are closed, Alex said, and Associate Dean of Student Affairs Birney Harrigan will be appraised of all the results of the hearings if they are held.

After the seventh-highest member of the board, Lauren Williams, was elected with 636 votes, there was a steep dropoff in vote totals. The eighth, and last member, former SGB Judicial Chair Scott Morley, was elected with 558 votes, only nine more than ninth-place Alissa Krutoff and 11 more than John Martin Jr., who was on Morely’s “Results Now” slate.

Martin said he could not comment on any actions by his slate in relation to the election.

“From what I’ve heard, nothing’s official yet,” he said, but added, aside from the technical problems with Panther Central, “I thought [the election] was handled pretty fairly myself.”

Morley also said he couldn’t comment until he saw something official, but said he “had no problems with [the election] at all.”
