Another semester is nearing its end; another year has come and gone. For many, especially freshman, this year has been an opportunity to take in new experiences. In between making it to class, meeting new friends and party hopping, you probably got to take in a few local music shows. What – you haven’t been to see a local show?

Tomorrow is your chance to redeem yourself. At Nick’s Fat City on the South Side, the Buzz Poets will be playing not one, but two concerts in celebration of the release of their new album.

The double live album, Two Sides, shows the diversity of a live Buzz Poets performance. The Poets recorded the first disc live at Club Laga; it features their typical electric set. The second disc represents the lighter side of the Buzz Poets, an acoustic set recorded at Club Cafe.

Formed in 1997, the Buzz Poets have been performing to their full potential, every night they play and on every stage they step onto. A tireless band, they play back-to-back shows night after night and sometimes in different parts of the state. Recently, the Poets have built themselves a strong following in the neighboring states of Maryland, Ohio and West Virginia.

Strangeway and The Delaneys will join the Poets tomorrow. The up-and-coming local rock bands both participated in this year’s Graffiti Rock Challenge, and look to help add to their already growing fan base.

If you are a fan of local music and the Buzz Poets – or even if you are one of those people who don’t even know who The Clarks are – both of these shows will be worth the trip to Carson Street.
