Some Pitt students are being treated with antibiotics today, after a freshman living on the… Some Pitt students are being treated with antibiotics today, after a freshman living on the fourth floor of Tower A was hospitalized with a rare form of bacterial meningitis.
The male student was taken to an unnamed hospital on Saturday, and on Sunday, according to procedure, the hospital notified the Allegheny County Department of Health after diagnosing the illness.
Guillermo Cole, a spokesman for the health department, said Pitt students have little reason to be concerned for their own health.
