James Watson, co-discoverer of the double helix structure of DNA and co-recipient of the 1962… James Watson, co-discoverer of the double helix structure of DNA and co-recipient of the 1962 Nobel Prize for medicine and physiology, demonstrated in his lecture last night that his dry wit is as well developed as his scientific mind.
His groundbreaking research with partner Francis Crick offered insight into the makeup of DNA and its process of replication, and is considered by many to be the most important biochemical discovery of the 20th century.
