After providing a strong foundation with Tragic Kingdom in 1995 and then proving that they can make statements with songs of substance in their 2000 release of Return of Saturn, No Doubt went back to their dancehall roots with their 2001 release of Rock Steady. After making serious statements about being oppressed as a woman, Gwen Stefani and the rest of the band felt the need to let loose and party.
