Pitt, a team mired in turmoil and question marks just 20 days ago, is now a team with a two-game winning streak under its belt and the possibility of a bowl bid still alive.
Rutgers (2-6 overall, 0-5 in the Big East), unlike Pitt, has seen no change in its fortune. The team is still searching for its first conference win of the season and comes off a brutal 80-7 blowout last week at the hands of West Virginia.
Pitt is one week removed from its 38-7 squashing of then No. 12-ranked Virginia Tech Hokies. According to head coach Walt Harris, it was the first game that Pitt finished completely as the defense and offense both played solidly for four quarters.
