Pitt surgeon Dr. Jerome Canady and Huttinger-Trumpf signed a manufacturing agreement along with Conmed Corporation to manufacture and distribute the Canady Catheter.

The Canady Catheter, named after its inventor, is comprised of an electric wire that runs through a pencil tip-sized tube. Argon gas, which flows along the electrical current, allows a beam of energy to eradicate polyps and tumors and cauterize ulcers and bleeding tissue.
