Pitt junior guard Cameron Wright has been named the recipient of the 2014 Skip Prosser Award in recognition as the top scholar-athlete in men’s basketball, Atlantic Coast Conference commissioner John Swofford announced today.

The award will be presented to the business-marketing major from Cleveland, Ohio, before tip-off of Pitt’s game against Wake Forest at Greensboro Coliseum this afternoon.

In order to gain eligibility for the award, a student-athlete must be an upperclassman with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher both for his career and in the previous two semester. 60 percent of the award is based on academic achievement and 40 percent is based on athletic achievement.

Wright was one of four Panthers named to the All-ACC Academic Team, and is the second player under Jamie Dixon to earn a conference scholar-athlete award after Aaron Gray in 2007.
