Pitt Police are investigating the cause of multiple fires set this week in dumpsters and garbage cans on lower campus.

Police responded to calls about the fires from 11:22 p.m. Wednesday until approximately 2 a.m. Thursday, according to a crime alert on Pitt Police’s website. The fires were contained to several garbage cans and dumpsters.

The alert said Police are pursuing one suspect, a white male, who is approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall, with a medium build and brown hair. At the time, the alert said, he was wearing dark clothes and dark shoes.
