Pitt adds 78 new COVID-19 cases since Aug. 27

Pitt officials said 56 students and 22 faculty and staff members tested positive for COVID-19 over the course of a 10-day period from Aug. 27 through Sept. 7. The report also said 89% of undergraduate students has uploaded proof of a COVID-19 vaccine.

Pitt hires outside law firm to review fetal tissue research practices

Pitt hired the law firm Hyman, Phelps & McNamara to conduct an independent review of its fetal tissue research practices to ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines, state Rep. Natalie Mihalek announced Thursday.

Pitt confirms classes to go in-person Monday, provides accommodation resources

In an email sent to Pitt faculty on Wednesday, Provost Ann Cudd confirmed that all classes will meet in person starting Sept. 13, unless professors received permission for remote or hybrid instruction from their dean.
