Pitt adds 11 COVID-19 cases since Tuesday

Pitt added 11 new COVID-19 cases, composed of 10 students and one employee, between Tuesday and Thursday, with 20 students currently in isolation. The University’s previous case report, covering last Friday to Monday, included 15 cases.
Dawne Hickton, the chair of the Board’s Ad-hoc Committee on Fossil Fuels, said the committee found that fossil fuel investments will pose a “higher risk” in the future.

Student Government Board slammed a report released last Friday by a Board of Trustees committee which advocated for a gradual divestment from fossil fuels. SGB President Eric Macadangdang, along with the other board members, supports immediate divestment.
Pitt’s Bradford campus, the Office for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, the Center on Race and Social Problems and the Black Action Society sponsored a panel Thursday afternoon called “The Black Impact: Black Faculty and Administrators’ Influence on Black Student Success.” Fellow members of the Black Pitt community, including faculty, students and administrators attended.

The fifth annual Pitt Day of Giving — a 24-hour fundraising initiative — took place all day Tuesday. This year’s PDoG raised about $2.49 million, as of Wednesday at 2 a.m. — up about 51% from last year’s event, which raised $1.65 million.
